Some example:
  • Fun AR activities to try out on Taylor's University campus.
  • Virtual Final Year Exhibitions for design students.
  • AR map for university visitors and new students.
  • Final project are consists of two main area
  • An interactive prototype AR application for the campaign.
  • An interactive microsite for the campaign which also serves as an instruction to download and user guide for the AR app.

Project ideas must be approved by the lecturer/tutor to ensure that they are feasible in an introductory level class.

Software Requirement:
  • Adobe Animate
  • Spark AR Studio

Design Process

I used Figma and AI to design the website. There were 5 sections: Home, About, Products, Campaign, and App. And I designed 7 frames in total.

Animation in Adobe Animate

In the tutorial videos, Mr. Razif explained a new way to animate the buttons so it looks more smooth and the animation can vary. I applied it on the navigation buttons.

It took me approximately 18 hours to finish this project. I was quite panicked bacause the buttons didn't work when I published it. But thank goodness it was fixed when I use the Chrome Server for Web.

FEEDBACK

WEEK 15:

General Feedback
For the final project's spark AR, just improve upon the previous ones, or just the same, submit it again for formality.

REFLECTION

Experience
The final project was not as difficult as the previous projects because now I'm more familiar with Adobe Animate app. However, there was no offline class at all during the final weeks so it was quite difficult for me to keep track of other students' progress. So I admit I was a bit late on my progress during week 13 and 14. I had to rush my work and eventually finished it on Week 15.

Observation
I observed that much planning is required to design in Adobe Animate. There are so many steps and details to create something. I had to go back to my Project 1 notes (thank goodness I wrote the shortcuts) and watched more tutorial videos to do just a simple thing. Adobe Animate by far the most complicated Adobe app I have used. I really hope there's a simpler software to do this.

Findings
I found that animation affects website design so much. It improves the whole website to become more interesting and interactive. Overall, I learned so many things in this module but I really hope there are more onsite classes.
